A senate rules on paper; in fact the realms are held by regents and their bloodlines, and moved by organizations that do not sign their letters. It is the Fourth Era, year 750, and the Winter War is breaking the elven domains one legitimacy at a time. Beneath the streets lies Old Iceverf, full of dead that get back up. Deadreach \u2014 once Rosereach, the city a modified cloudkill ritual emptied. Its dead did not leave; they became two kinds of thing, and the tower that ordered the ritual still stands.
