The Petal Gate is a sealed threshold at the deepest point of the Flower Vault, not built of plain stone but of stone-hardened root fused with marble, opening onto the outer edge of the Flower Goddess's domain. ^{[heralds-a#125]}

Description

The gate is carved with the relief of a closed, giant rosebud, and some of its petals are missing from the carving; it is marked in two overlapping languages at once, the sacred script of the flower and the mind/memory seals of the Magnus Arcanum. ^{[heralds-a#125]}

History

Dark elves once deceived the gate into opening by using the blood, name, or memory of someone from House Rosamendus, and stole the First Petal from within. ^{[heralds-a#125 · heralds-a#127]}

Since that theft, the Petal Gate no longer opens for lineage or a simple key alone: it now demands intent, lineage, a freely given memory, and a price of return before it will open again. ^{[heralds-a#125 · heralds-a#127]}
