House Frostweave is the ancient noble house that has ruled Iceverf for generations. [heralds-b#164 · heralds-b#165]

Overview

The family traces back to Iceverf's founding, when its members were known as hunters and trappers; over time they rose to become landowners and merchants, trading in furs and timber. [last-winter#101] House Frostweave is known for its mastery of ice magic and for strategic marriages that have preserved its power over the generations; its crest is a silver snowflake on a blue field. [heralds-b#164 · heralds-b#165] The house's ruler also governs the neighbouring town of Sunbell. [last-winter#21]

Leadership

Countess Astrid Frostweave currently holds the title, having inherited it from her predecessor, Count Alaric Frostweave. [last-winter#99 · last-winter#101] Other named members include Lord Cedric Frostweave, noted for his tactical mind, and Seren, an illegitimate daughter of Count Alaric Frostweave who serves with the Frostwood Rangers. [owner-form-2026-09-17 · heralds-b#164]

Needs a decision: One canon summary names Countess Freya Frostweave as the house's official ruler with Astrid as her heir, while another names Astrid herself as the reigning Countess after Alaric Frostweave's death — the two accounts do not agree on who currently holds the title.[heralds-a#3 · last-winter#99]

History

A member of the family, the sorcerer Godwin "Pale" White, broke from House Frostweave; Ekrem describes the split as personal, ideological, and irreversible. [last-winter#167 · heralds-b#397]

Players, stop here. What is hidden behind this point is game-master material. The full detail is on GM:House Frostweave.
