Overview

Bella Worthmore, the yuan-ti half-blood Baroness of Snakecross, serves Belial. ^{[heralds-a#128]} She made a pact with Belial to escape her own world and gain immense power; through that pact she became a warlock, gained an extended life, and gained the ability to shape Snakecross's fate. ^{[heralds-b#55]} It is this pact with Belial, not her birth, that sources give as the origin of both her power and her identity as the town's warlock ruler. ^{[last-winter#310]}

Campaign material refers to Bella's patron by the fuller title "Archdevil Belial." ^{[heralds-b#105 · last-winter#375 · last-winter#377]} The true nature of that pact, and what it means for Snakecross, is framed in the setting material as something still to be uncovered rather than a settled fact. ^{[heralds-b#164]}
