Timbermire is the capital of the Velfald Regency, a fog-bound coastal city built above a cliff on the White Coast. [heralds-a#3 · last-winter#816]

Overview

Timbermire is a cursed region where the signs of the Cycle can be seen and the Omen has been witnessed; it is a place Ekrem asked about directly early in the campaign. [heralds-b#2 · heralds-b#7]

The city is foggy and cold, surrounded by forest, and built atop a cliff; an elevator connects it down to the White Coast harbor below. [last-winter#816]

Ekrem's own messages consistently spell the city Timbermire; the campaign assistant's replies just as consistently render it Timbermere — the same place under a spelling variant. [heralds-b#49 · last-winter#814]

History

Timbermire is the capital of the Velfald Regency. [heralds-b#198 · heralds-a#3]

By the point of Ekrem's canon summary of the war, the capital was described as fallen. [heralds-a#3]

The Winter Elves' war aim includes capturing Timbermire; alongside Moonward, it is one of only two powers able to stop them, and the Winter Elves are working to undermine the Regent's legitimacy in order to break the Regency's centralized authority. Moonward wants to be Velfald's protector but does not interfere with the Winter Elves' campaign to take Timbermire, though it will not bow to the Winter Elves either. [heralds-b#182]

Power and politics

Timbermire is ruled by Regent Seraphina Stormwatch, who was Regent of the Velfald Regency before she became Regent of Timbermire. [owner-form-2026-09-17 · last-winter#814]

The Kardinal of the Velfald Regency resides in Timbermire. [last-winter#862]

The Regent has authorized royal assassins operating out of Timbermire to investigate matters of loyalty among the knights. [last-winter#252 · last-winter#253]

A member of House Rosemen was left safe in the city after an encounter in which Naevys took a small amount of his blood. [heralds-b#49]

An Archmagus for the city was also being sought. [last-winter#826]

In play

The Kardinal has summoned the Omen-Bearer to Timbermire, to witness the curse in person and hear about the Omen. [last-winter#872 · last-winter#875]
