Samael is the First and Highest Angel, the fallen counterpart of the god El, and one of the three rulers of the Eternal Legion of the Aenarch Empire. [last-winter#856 · last-winter#866]
Overview
Samael was the first angel to fall, the oldest of his kind. [last-winter#866] His name is itself his title: it means "the Blindness of God." [last-winter#866] He is a proud being who does not believe he can die. [last-winter#866] He is also the master of Fate, able to see everything that will or may happen. [last-winter#866]
The killing of Uriel
Samael killed a fellow fallen angel he regarded as a brother, Uriel. [last-winter#866] Before dying, Uriel took Samael's eyes in return; Samael has been blind ever since and has never been able to undo it. [last-winter#866]
Within the Eternal Legion
