Demon Slayer is a non-player character, a level 16 fighter who travels with the party because he is the father of one of its player characters. [heralds-b#367]
The inn ambush
While the party was resting at an inn outside the city, three thugs were drinking there when Demon Slayer attacked them without warning. [heralds-b#367] He beat one of them badly enough to put him out of the fight — it is not established in the source whether the thug was left unconscious or killed — while the other two fled to report what had happened to Blackice. [heralds-b#367]
