first cited: [last-winter#5]

Regent is the title of the ruler of a Regency, held by him and by his bloodline. [last-winter#5]

Authority

The Regent of Velfald is the symbol of imperial order in the region. [heralds-b#182] The Regent also takes part in the marriage politics of the counties: he proposed a noble of Altia, the neighbouring regency, as a match for Astrid Frostweave, against her own family's preference for the Moonward Duke's son. [heralds-b#166]

The Winter War

To break the Empire's centralized power in the region, the Winter Elves must first destroy the Regent's legitimacy. [heralds-b#182] Because of this, the Regent is the target rather than the battlefield: if Timbermire falls, the Winter Elves will have proved that the Regent cannot defend his people. [heralds-b#182 · heralds-b#183]

Known holders

Seraphina Stormwatch was Regent of Velfald first, and Regent of Timbermire afterwards. [owner-form-2026-09-17]
