The Yuan-Ti, also called serpentkin, are a serpent-descended people who originate from the lands of Vrael Olo, the Ooze Elemental Plane. [heralds-a#43]
Overview
Yuan-Ti are regarded as beings tied to the elemental planes. [heralds-b#446]
History
Beneath Snakepass, ancient legionnaires of the Forgotten Legion and priests of Aenism fought and died alongside Yuan-Ti and nagas while destroying the crypt of the last Worm God; twisted, inhuman serpent-based skeletons from that battle can still be found there. [heralds-a#39 · heralds-b#118] Remains of the Yuan-Ti themselves can still be found in that underground battlefield. [heralds-b#118] A field report compiled for the Temple of Aenism records that, in Aenarch's history, the Yuan-Ti have been linked to a demon, and that roughly ten centuries ago numerous nobles across the Empire were killed as lust-based temples were torn down. [heralds-b#446]
Power and politics
That same report raised suspicion that Baroness Bella Worthmore of Snakecross may not be human and may carry Yuan-Ti ancestry, and proposed that this could connect back to the demon-linked history above. [heralds-b#446]
